Habitat for Humanity Applicant Meetings

Designed specifically for persons interested in applying for a Habitat for Humanity house.

A comprehensive workshop to help first-time home buyers explore their purchase options.

Classes designed to help new homeowners better make the transition from renting to owning. Budgeting & Banking and Credit classes are open to anyone interested, however class size is limited.
 

A workshop specifically for persons interested in applying for a Habitat for Humanity house.

Persons wishing to apply for a Habitat for Humanity house should first attend this workshop to receive an application and instructions on how to apply.

Attendees who buy a house in Lowndes County may qualify for a $500 grant towards their loan closing from funding set aside by Project Change.

Qualified workshop attendees may also be eligible for various low-interest loans and/or down-payment assistance through the GA Department of Community Affairs, USDA Rural Development, Habitat for Humanity, the City of Valdosta, or other similar programs.

Lunch will be provided.
No child-care available.

Attendees who buy a house in the City of Valdosta Designated Revitalization Area may also qualify for up to a $5000 down-payment assistance loan that will be forgiven after 10 years in the house. All classes are required for Habitat Partner Families and applicants who wish to qualify for the City’s down payment assistance.

Anyone who attends the full-day Home Buyer Workshop (3rd Saturday) will not be required to attend this workshop.

Persons who attend the full-day Home Buyer Workshop and/or the Homeowner Skills Classes may apply these hours to sweat equity IF they are later accepted as a Habitat for Humanity Partner Family. This does NOT apply to the Applicant Meeting
