Habitat for Humanity builds decent and affordable homes around the world in partnership with families in need of a decent place to live. Habitat homebuyers help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Our homes look different around the world to fit in with the many styles and traditions found in the communities where the houses are built.
Through the Aging in Place and Veterans Repairs Ministry Program, Habitat aids Veterans, disabled persons and older adults assisting with critical home repairs specific to each homeowner’s lifestyle needs to preserve their ability to stay safely in their home and maintain their independence. They must be homeowners, not renters of the home needing critical repair. This program is funded by donations and grants. Therefore, the scope and number of repairs is limited by the amount of funding received annually.
